Hot day but he stayed inside

It was a balmy summer Thursday in the low 90s. The sky was only partially cloudy. Good throwing weather for the kids who might have been playing catch on the baseball fields across the street from his house.

Despite the pleasant weather, he was in bed with a firearm. Then an accident occurred.

That evening, a 16-year-old accidentally shot himself in his upper body on July 5, 2018, on Del Norte Court in Alexandria, Virginia. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital the next day.
