He lived on the south side of West Philadelphia, where the Cobbs Creek river flows. The neighborhood is home to the Automobile Suburb Historic District, a community Environmental Education Center and the Cobbs Creek Park.

“This neighborhood is a diamond in the rough,” and Cobbs Creek is “actually more peaceful than most people perceive it to be,” one woman wrote on Street Advisor. But the neighborhood received an “F” in crime on areavibes.com.

On September 16, 2018, Anthony Gibbs, 17, was shot in his torso in the Cobbs Creek neighborhood of West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
