Shot in building cops want demolished

Built as a two-story complex in 1964 in a quiet corner of Atlanta, Georgia, the Sierra Ridge apartments once bore the tagline “Welcome to the Good Life.”

The apartments have since been dubbed a “crime haven” by some. From June 2017 to July 2018, the Atlanta Police Department responded to 223 calls at Sierra Ridge. The police are pushing to have the complex demolished.

Trayvon T. Muhammad, 17, was shot in the chest and leg on July 12, 2018 at Sierra Ridge. He died of gunshot wounds at a local hospital.
