Frankfort, Illinois

His friend tried to save him

In a suburb just south of Chicago, a boy began his senior year at Lincoln-Way East High School.

His hometown of Frankfort, Illinois, boasts low crime rates and high incomes. At a school with high graduation rates and test scores, his classmates grew up with dreams of attending nearby Northwestern University.

In a friend’s home on Lily Court on Nov. 4, 2018, an unknown boy, 17, was accidentally shot just after 6 p.m. After an unsuccessful CPR attempt by his friend, Frankfort firefighters transported him to Silver Cross Hospital, where he died from the wound left by the bullet from the .357 revolver.
