The buildings at the corner of South Kildare Avenue are laid with red brick. There were street lights watching over him as he walked. That night, he did not walk alone.

Days later they lifted hands for him and prayed for peace.

Lovell Grant, 18, was pronounced dead on the night of May 8, 2018, after being shot multiple times when someone from inside a gray Jaguar opened fire, hitting Lovell and a 60-year-old man on the street in the Southwest side of Chicago.
