The gun was on the dresser

Enjoying his time on a swing, you couldn’t tell the blond-haired boy was sick.

He was often in a doctor’s office or hospital room for various health problems. He was a month old when he was hospitalized for respiratory syncytial virus and pneumonia. A few months later, he was diagnosed with severe peanut, soy and egg allergies. He was diagnosed with asthma at 18 months old.

Zachary Jace Duke, 4, accidentally shot himself in the chest on Feb. 20, 2018, when he got ahold of his father’s gun from the top of a dresser in Moulton, Alabama.
