A wrong turn, a grandson gone

His grandmother described him as a “fun-loving, mischievous, normal kid.”

He loved to watch cartoons and dance. At 4 years old, he adored his mother. She had just given him a bath when a friend called, asking for a ride.

On May 10, 2018, Messiah Murphy was with his mom and brother when shots were fired at their car in north Shreveport, Louisiana. Messiah was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. No one else in the car was injured. Later, his grandmother said his mom had made a wrong turn.
