Montreal Dunn

Age 2

Louisville, Kentucky

Picket fence couldn’t keep him safe

He was just learning to dribble a basketball, hold conversations and smile with his teeth. He was curious about what made balls round and how grass grew to be so tall. He played catch with his father just inside the white picket fence, not too far from the safety of his home.

Fence and all, he needed all the protection he could get from the world.

Montreal Dunn, 2, died in Louisville, Kentucky, after accidentally shooting himself in the head with his father’s gun on Aug. 15, 2018.
