Two kids lost in one day

On a Friday morning in Louisa County, Virginia, a 2-year-old died after his 4-year-old brother unintentionally shot him at their home.

That afternoon, approximately 150 miles away, in Roanoke, Virginia, witnesses found another child alone in a room with a gunshot wound.

On May 22, 2018, Tyson Beckett Aponte, 2, accidentally shot himself in the head with a .380 handgun at home on Bennett Drive. The parents flagged down the police to tell them what happened. Roanoke Fire-EMS rushed him to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:49 p.m.
