He was the son his father always said he wanted. His parents shared custody.
In a photo, he wore a T-shirt that read “Mommy’s little explorer” and was nestled in the arms of his father, a would-be rapper who loved two things in life: his music and his son. He was in those arms one day when his father opened his apartment door.
One-year-old Tyren Demetris Zi'Aaire Williams was shot alongside his father on Sept. 30, 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina. Police said the killings were “all over the sale of drugs.” Tyren died three days before his second birthday.
