His priorities included school, sports, and his family. At Emerald High School, he influenced classroom conversations and play on the fields. He had a large family, all living close and looking in on one another.

Tidrekis Daquan Gary, 15, did not finish his high school freshman year or his final conversation. He was shot by another teenager at the corner of his apartment complex in Greenwood, South Carolina on April 4, 2018, and died at a hospital.
