Odin Tyler Painter

Age 8

Ponder, Texas

A scout missing from Troop 4077

As a Boy Scout in Troop 4077, he took an oath to serve, to help, and to stay mentally sharp. He honored this pledge by looking after his siblings, taking care of those suffering, and working on being a better person.

It’s easy to imagine him still doing these things.

On May 16, 2018, Odin Tyler Painter, 8, of Ponder, Texas, was shot and killed alongside his two siblings by his mother’s ex-husband, who also killed her boyfriend, before turning the gun on himself. His mother was the only survivor.
