For the 3-year-old with big blue eyes and two spiky pigtails, everything was “a sunny rainbow day." Her favorite color was pink.
Her parents were separated. Her father violated a protective order in 2004, but he had visitation rights. A local park was one of the favorite places for the father and daughter to visit together.
On July 1, 2018, family members started looking for Maddie Sabre Davis after she failed to come home by 6:30 p.m. after a scheduled visit. They found her father’s truck at Gilbert Run Park in La Plata, Maryland. He had shot and killed her. And then himself.
