A father’s rage, a mother’s grief
“Eat, teeth, hi, hot and hat.” These were the five words she knew how to say. But she had a lifetime to learn more.
She had big, brown, beautiful eyes. She loved dancing, and eating. Her mother lovingly recalls finding her baby standing by the open fridge, taking a single bite from a hotdog and putting it back, as if to say, “I’m hungry, Mommy!”
Layla Briggs of Brooklyn, New York, was shot by her father in a triple murder-suicide on March 14, 2018.
