Gary girl, just 2 years old

The brown eyed-toddler lived in Gary, Indiana. She was one of four children.

On a late summer Tuesday, she was at her mother's boyfriend's house on Polk Street. Her mother walked toward the front door to talk to her boyfriend. The conversation paused when a pop went off.

On Sept. 4, 2018, 2-year-old Jayla Roemarie Miller died from a gunshot wound to the head. Police found narcotics and a loaded gun out in the open in the room Jayla was in and suspected foul play. She died at Comer’s Children Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
