He met her at the door

About two months into freshman year, she teetered into her first homecoming dance at Lake Havasu High School in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with her friends, in a pair of daunting high heels.

She was flexible both as a dancer and student — championing her middle and vertical split, and  receiving highest honors in middle school. Her favorite color was blue, she was passionate about the arts, and she always had a corny joke at the ready.

On Sept. 17, 2018, Hannah Gottier, 14, came home from school with her mom. As they entered the house, Hannah’s father shot and killed them both.
