Her tiny hands prayed every night
Every night, she kneeled beside her bed to pray, beckoning her mother to join her.
At MiMi Daycare and School, she thrived learning to interact with her peers and eagerly memorizing the alphabet and colors. She looked up to “her Jazz,” as she called her older sister Jazmine. At the end of each bedtime prayer, she whispered “God bless everybody.”
At 6:50 p.m. on June 14, 2018, Longview Police responded to a report of shots fired on Owings Avenue in Longview, Texas. Geneva Authena Lanae Augustow, 3, lying next to a 9mm handgun, was pronounced dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
