Lost: “A child of exceptional intellect”

Just 9 years old, he made up his own songs, including beatboxing. He also liked math, physical activity and video games.

A student at Sarah Mills Hodge Elementary School, he was described as “a child of exceptional intellect” who gave his big family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins “unspeakable joy.”

Gabriel Jordan Early was with that family on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, 2018, in Savannah, Georgia, when he was accidentally shot by an unnamed adult relative. He died at a local hospital. Police said there was “no apparent malicious intent,” but that the case would be referred to a grand jury.
