Him and Pops against the world

He called his dad the “OG.” The teen liked to post on Facebook about their time attending a football game to see the Dallas Cowboys or "grubbing."

He looked up to his father, who told him, “don't matter how many times you fall; it's about how many time you rise from adversity.” His father’s positive influence motivated him to earn good grades in school.

On Dec. 7, 2018, Demareyea Bazile, 17, of Dallas, Texas, was shot in a car in southeast Oak Cliff around 4 p.m. and died at a local hospital.
