Family remembers kind and polite teen

In his junior year at Oak Grove High School, his grades earned him a spot on the honor roll.

He was “one of the kindest, most polite young men you ever met,” wrote his grandmother on Facebook. “He loved his family and he loved his friends but most importantly he loved life and the Lord,” a family friend wrote.

At 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, 2019, Chandler Cole Dalco Erskine, 17, was killed in a shooting that also injured another boy at the Oak Grove Rodeo in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana. His school district asked the community to wear red to honor him.
