Playground memorializes Titanic-loving, compassionate soul

He looked forward to watching “Toy Story” in class the following week. He had a “deep enthusiasm” for the things he loved. He had an “inquisitive mind” and always brought a book to class. His science teacher called him “a kind soul.”

He was fascinated with the ocean and “had an extensive knowledge of the Titanic,” according to his loved ones. His family and community are raising money to build a playground in the shape of the ship and name it after him.

Eleven-year-old Caleb M. Lishing was shot, allegedly by his 13-year-old brother, in Streetsboro, Ohio, on April 23, 2018.
