Ajurin LaShaun Blake

Age 16

South Bend, Indiana

Waved goodbye for the last time

His great-aunt said she would give him money because his grades were so good.

When he wasn’t going to school at Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana, he played football and basketball, ran track, and worked part-time at Little Caesars. He wanted to become famous playing football. According to his friend, he stayed “out of any negativity and any drama.”

On the evening of Jan. 13, 2019, 16-year-old Ajurin LaShaun Blake waved to a family friend while standing in front of his home on North Brookfield Street. A few minutes later, Blake was killed by a bullet to the head.
