Christopher Johnson

Age 18

Wilmington, California

Making others better versions of themselves

He dreamed of pursuing engineering at Oregon State University. He’d study with his girlfriend, Patricia, at the library, and then he’d spend the little money he had to buy her dinner or a manicure.

“He wanted to do something in life,” his girlfriend said. “He motivated me to work hard. He taught me not to judge people, to love them for who they are.”

On October 25, 2018, Christopher “It’s Chris” Johnson, 18, was with Patricia and their friends in Wilmington, California, when he was shot. He tried to run home but collapsed and died outside the house next door.
