Medical school dreams shattered at party
She was a pre-med student at Bradley University, after turning down Brown to stay in-state and be closer to her family. She was going to be the first of them to graduate college.
She was the oldest of three children and looked after the younger two. Her high school principal described her as a quiet, hardworking student who wanted to impact her community. According to her cousin, she loved the band New Edition.
Nasjay R. Murray was declared dead on Sunday, April 8, 2018, after she was shot at a party the night before in Peoria, Illinois.
