Javonne Micheal Jaylin Luke Davis

Age 15

Camden, New Jersey

He’d just received a way out

He never grew out of his desire to help others. He collected and repaired bikes to give to younger kids in his neighborhood.

He experienced homelessness during his childhood. He was accepted to Rutgers Future Scholars, a mentorship program that gave him the chance to earn a full scholarship to Rutgers University. He dreamed of opening his own barbershop after graduating from business school.

At 3:36 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2018, Javonne Micheal Jaylin Luke Davis, 15, was shot several times while walking home from Camden High School in Camden, New Jersey. He died from his injuries at Cooper University Hospital.
