Joshua Mizell Torrance

Age 18

Atlanta, Georgia

A bright student, a shattered future

He had just graduated with top honors from Business, Engineering, Science and Technology (B.E.S.T.) Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a HOPE scholarship recipient and was planning on attending Albany State University. He saved his money and worked hard.

An “edgy” sense of humor and an energetic spirit brought love to his friends and family. He was “a go-getter,” according to his mother, and was torn between studying engineering or architecture.

He never made the decision. Joshua Mizell Torrance, 18, was shot and killed on May 30, 2018, at an apartment complex in Atlanta.
