Young Jamiel’s sun set too early

The city seal of San Bernardino, with its sun rising over the mountains and a train passing through, symbolizes a place of optimism and progress. His own dreams for the future were equally hopeful.

A local of the California city, he was calm and quiet with a cool personality. He was eager to go to college and pursue a career.

Three months shy of adulthood, 17-year-old Jamiel Jordan’s sun abruptly set when he was killed by two bullets on July 5, 2018, at a friend’s Fourth of July party.
