Alaina Maria Housley

Age 18

Thousand Oaks, California

She’s probably singing with the stars

For her birthday and as a college gift, her mom took her to “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Musicals were her favorite, especially “Les Misérables” and “Hamilton.”

She adored soccer, so much that she started a charity to collect gear for kids from impoverished countries so they could share her joy for the game. When her aunt was around, they sang together at the piano.

On November 7, 2018, Alaina Maria Housley, 18, was line dancing at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, when a gunman opened fired with a semiautomatic handgun, murdering her and 11 other people. Friends believe she’s now singing in the stars.
