Brought victories to his basketball team
His school year started out strong, both in class and on the basketball court. He worked hard as a member of CHAT (Church Hill Activities and Tutoring), an after-school program that helped with homework. He dreamed of leaving public housing.
Commonly called YaYa, the 17-year-old attended Thomas Jefferson High School. As the starting point guard on the Phantoms Basketball team, he helped win six of the seven games preceding his death. He was known for his smile and laugh.
Yishawn D. Robinson was shot and killed on Sunday evening, December 2, 2018 on Raven Street in Richmond, Virginia.
