“The best” — a life stopped short

An excellent athlete at Canyon Creek High School, he had recently attended culinary school, intending to prove once more that he was “the best.”

He was a part of the New Paradise Baptist Church and its God’s Chosen youth choir. The teen with an infectious smile enjoyed singing and dancing, and always made time for those he loved.

Tyrese Lashawn Traylor, 18, was shot and killed on Sept. 4, 2018, during an argument at Sportsman’s Royal Manor Apartments in east Las Vegas, Nevada. In a trash can nearby, investigators later found a rifle.
