Tyrelle Bowyer
Age 15
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
He would protect his coach’s son
His coach Scrap Wilson called him a “security blanket” because he would defend his son against bullies.
Whether it was baseball or football for the local Swissvale leagues, he had a determined nature that always “meant something to the team,” Wilson said. “He was a good kid… well-mannered, worked hard.”
Tyrelle Bowyer, 15, was shot and killed on July 16, 2018, in Pittsburgh. The suspect said Bowyer had handed him a gun and it fired accidentally. But detectives said Bowyer was shot in the back of the head.
