Tamara Lynette Dodson

Age 15

Columbus, Ohio

Dancer embodied DIVA’s V for Vivacious

She was the strongest dancer her coach had ever seen. She “breathed dance” and was a passionate, fearless force to be reckoned with.

She danced for the Platinum Divas Dance Team, and former coach Sam Woodard described her as a “firecracker.” She commanded the attention of everyone in the audience and made sure that all eyes were on her.

On Aug. 25, 2018, Tamara Lynette Dodson, 15, known to friends and family as Rudy, was fatally shot on Rich Street in Columbus, Ohio. Tamara’s death sparked a discussion about the dangers of gun violence in her community.
