Six days before her father’s wedding

In a photo on her father’s wedding website, she is lying on a grassy lawn, her legs clad in brown leather boots and crossed against a white fence. She has been captured mid-laugh, with rosy cheeks and her soft, blond curls swept to one shoulder.

“One of both mine and Kenzie’s favorite people in the universe!” reads the photo’s caption. “She is smart, beautiful, funny and she brings so much joy to those around her.”

Sydnie Lynne Darnell, 12, was accidentally shot while target shooting in Cle Elum, Washington. on May 27, 2018. She died six days before her father's wedding.
