Robert Love Jr.

Age 15

Greenwood, Mississippi

A talented athlete, gone too soon

His family described him as ”a good kid,” funny and athletic. A shooting guard and small forward on his basketball team, he scored an average of 14 points per game, his recruiting profile showed. He could bench press 190 pounds and had a 93 percent success rate at free throws.

Ten months before it happened, he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after a “gang turf-war shooting” at a country club where one person was wounded.

Robert Love Jr., 15, was shot multiple times and died at the Brazil Homes in Greenwood, Mississippi, on Feb. 17, 2018.
