Raul Castillo Rivera

Age 18

Salt Lake City, Utah

Brought laughter to everyone around him

Born in Mexico City, he brought his contagious smile to Murray, Utah. Those who knew him knew his caring heart.

An athlete and a music enthusiast, he was “always down to have a good time” whether  skateboarding, playing soccer or basketball, lifting weights, rapping, or “gloving to electronic dance music.” He brought laughter to everybody around him. On Sept. 11, he updated his Facebook profile photo to one that showed him with two friends. “Much love fam,” he wrote.

On Oct. 6, 2018, Raul Rivera Castillo, 18, was shot and killed in Salt Lake City, Utah.
