Violence steals a night with friends

His friends called him “Sul” and he dreamed of being a rapper.

He lived in a city where teen shootings jumped nearly 40 percent in 2018, where “the pastors … are tired of doing funerals for violence." On a seemingly calm Thursday, he decided to go out with a group of friends.

Rasul Benson, 15, was shot and killed on Oct. 4, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when a gunman attacked him and his friends at a gas station. There is a video of the shooting. It doesn’t explain why.
