Ramon Enriquez Barragan

Age 17

Garden City, Kansas

Born, raised, died in Garden City

In the photo, his curly dark hair falls over his forehead. His sweet dark eyes and slight smile go hand-in-hand with the “kind-hearted young man” he was said to be.

One of eight siblings, he “always put others before himself.” Video games, boxing and singing were his passions. He belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas, where he was born and raised.

Ramon Enriquez Barragan, 17, was riding in a car at 1:40 p.m. on July 14, 2018, at the U.S. Highway 50 bypass between Third Street and Campus Drive in Garden City, when shots were fired into the car by a passing vehicle. Ramon was struck. He was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital, where he died.
