Age 16

Brooklyn, New York

Doctor or engineer? Choice taken away.

He moved to the United States from Lagos, Nigeria, in 2013. His classmates called him Timi.

“He loved sports and basketball. Very ambitious. He’s a boy who had a brighter future. He was constantly going for what he wanted to do in life. He wanted to become a doctor or an engineer,” his father, David Oyebola, told The New York Post.

On September 21, 2018, Oluwadurotimi Oyebola, 16, was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital after he was shot in the head while playing basketball at the Chester Playground on Chester Street in Brownsville, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.
