Michael Barrientos

Age 18

Houston, Texas

A life in Friday night lights

He spent high school under the Friday night lights, a handsome 6-foot-1-inch, 205-pound football player with highlight reels showing him at his best. A 2018 graduate of Alief Hastings High School, his life was just beginning.

Afterward, a tweet by his teammates said it all: “He played tight end for us but played a bigger role in our hearts,” it read. “You were my one real best friend,” his older brother wrote.

Michael Barrientos, 18, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the 12000 block of Huntington Glen Drive in southwest Houston, Texas, on Dec. 16, 2018. Police said Barrientos’s SUV also was stolen.
