Larenzo Smith

Age 15

Chicago, Illinois

Deep brown eyes. Little brother. Taken.

He was a boxer. He had gentle brown eyes that stood out against his pale washed blue jeans.

His family said he was full of joy and positivity. He was a warm light on the snowy Chicago streets. He was somebody’s little brother, a favorite student of his teachers at school. He was surrounded by family and friends who loved him. “Jesus Christ, have mercy,” one would later cry.

Larenzo Smith, 15, was shot while walking in Chicago’s Chatham neighborhood on Feb. 19, 2018. It happened at 5:20 p.m. For any other boy, almost dinnertime.
