La'Munt Edward Pickens-Hawkins

Age 17

Lawton, Oklahoma

Sadly, no more easy Sunday mornings

Friends and family said he was “as easy as a Sunday morning,” a reference to the 1977 hit by the Commodores. Nicknames like “Pretty Ricky,” “Munt Munt” and “Money Munt” followed him around the halls of Lawton High School and on the court as a student athlete. He played JV basketball for the Wolverines.

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, La'Munt Edward Pickens-Hawkins, 17, was walking through the door at a home in Lawton, Oklahoma, when he was fatally shot by another teenager.
