La'marrion Upchurch

Age 15

Los Angeles, California

No more time to entertain kids

On weekdays, he played on the football team at Cabrillo High School. But he saved the weekends for the clowning around. Literally.

Known by his stage name, Lil’ BZ, the freshman was in the “Tommy the Clown” dance group for birthday parties and other public events. “You could never stay mad at him. He was a happy person,” a friend said.

On Mother’s Day, May 13, 2018, at 1:30 a.m., La'marrion Upchurch, 15, was walking home with a couple of friends in Los Angeles, when he was shot and killed by people in a passing car.
