Kristian E. Marche

Age 18

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

He raced his way to college

His mentor was excited when he scored a 1060 on his SATs, the highest score earned among his peers at Focused Athletics. A graduate of Imhotep Institute Charter High School, he excelled in football and track.

On the night before his first day at Pennsylvania State University on a track and field scholarship, two teens attempted a break into his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He confronted the would-be robbers.

Later that day they returned, waiting for him in his driveway. Kristian E. Marche, 18, was shot in the head on East Pastorius Street in the West Oak Lane neighborhood on Aug. 13, 2018.
