From age 5, football was his life. “My main goal is to get an amazing education and be successful,” he wrote on the Next College Student Athlete website. A photo shows him posing proudly with his high school diploma.

Just after midnight, three friends picked him up to go to a party. They pulled up behind a mall. Confused, he saw two handguns pointed at him. He begged for his life. 

Kemundrey E'wan Pittmon, 18, died of gunshot wounds behind a rental store in Bradenton, Florida, on July 22. Police called it “a drug deal” gone wrong.
