Juquel Keshon Young

Age 17

Charleston, South Carolina

He played safety for the Wildcats

He was one of six in Charleston, South Carolina, that took place earlier in 2018. One of 30 in the tri-county area. One of at least five at the apartment complex.

He played safety for the West Ashley High Wildcats, number 9. He would have begun his senior season in a month. “Violence begets violence .… We need to change community norms,” the mayor said afterward, too late for him to hear it.

Juquel Keshon Young was found dead at 8:45 p.m. on July 15, shot after an argument on a basketball court. He was 17.
