Jakayla Anderson

Age 16

Moultrie, Georgia

Her strength and nickname: “Queen Bee”

A pulled-together girl, she liked rap and wore her hair in box braids. Along with faith and family, she liked horror movies.

Six months before, “Queen Bee” changed her cover photo to one of her father in his casket. She stayed strong through “the good times and the bad times,” a friend said.

On Oct. 16, 2018, police responded to a report of “a female playing with a gun” at a home in Moultrie, Georgia. They found Jakayla Anderson, 16, dead with a gunshot wound to the head. The 19-year-old man who called police was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
