He was a fan of boxing, football and music. He loved playing guitar and trombone. He enjoyed writing and performing rap songs. He was going to enter Harmony Grove High School as a sophomore.

“He was a smart kid. … He stayed focused in school,” said Hunter Burtness, his best friend, to KATV news. “He was a really outgoing guy. He would stick his neck out for anybody.”

Jacob Andrew Mechling, 15, was playing Russian roulette with two of his friends. He recorded himself while shooting with his father’s gun on the evening of July 27, 2018, in Haskell, Arkansas.
