Harry Sedric Taliefer IV

Age 13

Indianapolis, Indiana

He tried to stop the fight

He was just a boy, but his family affectionately called him “Man Man.” He loved to sing, but he was camera shy. He attended Decatur Middle School, where he played football. Soon, he would have begun eighth grade.

One summer day, his neighbors watched as a group of children argued in the street, drowned out by loud music from a boombox. One said he was trying to break up the fight when a gunshot rang over the music, and he fell to the ground.

On July 12, 2018, Harry Sedric Taliefer IV, 13, was shot and killed on Barnor Drive in Indianapolis, Indiana.
