Griffin Lyndon Weathers

Age 17

High Point, North Carolina

Animal-loving athlete still touching lives

He had a soft spot for animals. Once, he rescued a baby rabbit, spent days feeding it, and convinced his sister to drive him 200 miles to an animal sanctuary. For his 14th birthday, instead of gifts, he wanted to adopt a dog named Lizzie.

He was an athlete at High Point Central High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He planned to study exercise science and psychology at High Point University in the fall.

Griffin Lyndon Weathers, 17, was fatally shot in High Point, North Carolina, on April 9, 2018, by another teenager.
