He was riding a borrowed bike home from a store in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Located in the northwest corner of the state, Shreveport is the safest it’s been at any point in the last two generations. In the first six months of 2018, 20 people had been killed in a homicide. This is down from 26 for the same time in the previous year.

Eric Dewayne Harris Jr., 18, was riding a bike down Linear Street on October 28, 2018, when he was fatally shot in the Martin Luther King neighborhood of Shreveport.
